Police are on the hunt for a white SUV linked to a brazen armed robbery earlier this month, as the Metropolitan Police Department reaches out to the public for assistance. The First District’s Detectives Unit made a call for help, circulating footage and details of the robbery that took place on H Street NE.
The incident unfolded on March 14 at around 1:11 a.m. as the victim, who remained unnamed, was about to enter his car near the 600 block. Law enforcement officials stated a small white SUV pulled to aggressively stop beside him. Two armed suspects then emerged from the vehicle, brandishing handguns and demanding the victim’s belongings, according to a statement by MPD. The man complied and the suspects hastily made to re-enter the vehicle before speeding off into the night.
Fortunately, the victim sustained no physical injuries during the encounter, but the perpetrators remain at large. The MPD has not described the suspects, only that they are now linked to the small white SUV sought in connection with the crime.
The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this incident or the vehicle's whereabouts to step forward. They've assured that tips can be submitted anonymously.
