Milpitas Police Make Multiple Arrests for Warrants and Drug Offenses in Overnight Crime SweepSource: Milpitas Police Department

While most people were winding down for the night, Milpitas Police officers were out in force, cracking down on crime in a series of arrests that spanned the late evening and early morning hours. According to a post by the Milpitas Police Department, the first arrest happened around 10 pm when officers Kolmanovskiy and Perez encountered a 49-year-old man near Serra Center, who was wanted on several warrants; the encounter also led to the discovery and seizure of methamphetamine.

The next incident involved approximately 100 cars and 200 spectators beginning to form for a sideshow near S. Milpitas Blvd. and Yosemite Dr., Officer Terry engaged, but the driver he attempted to pull over fled despite Terry's "best efforts to make a new friend," the official report stated. Shortly after midnight, the police apprehension streak continued with Officer Goods recognizing two individuals wanted on felony warrants with a subsequent arrest of a 24-year-old male, while the second subject briefly eluded capture by ducking into a hotel room, only to be arrested later.

That same night, an automated license plate reader system played a pivotal role in flagging a vehicle associated with a nearby robbery. Officer Fiance located the vehicle at a gas station, leading to the arrest of three suspects, who were handed over to the appropriate agency. Officer Ramirez also made a catch at Bowlero, where a 50-year-old man with an outstanding warrant for arrest was found in possession of drugs and paraphernalia, rounding out the series of offenses with yet another arrest.

Just as the night seemed to quiet down, Officers Kolmanovskiy and Perez, who'd started the earlier arrest, booked a 37-year-old man in Seasons Marketplace parking lot for an outstanding felony assault warrant and drug possession meanwhile, Officer Terry, circling back to investigate the earlier sideshow scene, witnessed two mask-clad individuals acting suspiciously. However, they noticed the officer and sped away, contributing to the theme of the night's fast-paced police activity. To top off the eventful shift, Officer Goods arrested a 40-year-old man on E. Calaveras Blvd., wanted on DUI charges. "It was a busy night, and we take pride in knowing the work we do allows you to sleep well! Be safe, Milpitas!" read the closing statement about the PD's busy night.
