A 38-year-old Norwalk man has been nabbed by law enforcement for a string of alleged sexual assaults, and the cops are on the hunt for more potential victims, officials said. Meliton Santoyo Jaramillo is accused of sexually battering multiple women while employed as their gardener, with all incidents occurring on or around Bellflower Boulevard and Wardlow Road, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The accused predator's alleged spree began in August 2023, targeting two elderly women, the department said. A third attack, this time on an adult female unfolded on February 22. Following a probe into the allegations, law enforcement charged Jaramillo with three counts of sexual battery, as per the Long Beach Police Department.
Investigators convinced Jaramillo seized more than the shrubbery, and fear there could be additional unreported incidents. After the City Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant, Jaramillo was arrested on April 8 by detectives from the Special Investigations Detail in La Mirada, and was hauled off to Long Beach City Jail, the statement divulged.
As reported by the Long Beach Police Department, Jaramillo, who is now behind bars with bail set at no amount, could face additional charges if more victims come forward, officials urged. The Long Beach Police Department is appealing for any further victims to step forward and contact the Sex Crimes Detail at (562) 570-7368. Alternatively, tipsters can remain anonymous and reach out through "LA Crime Stoppers" by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by using the "P3 Tips" smartphone app, the statement encouraged.
