Auto enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike will want to mark their calendars for the upcoming Commonwealth Vehicle Auction in Pennsylvania where more than 355 vehicles will be hitting the block. Set for April 9th at the Manheim Keystone Pennsylvania in Grantville, the Department of General Services’ Bureau of Vehicle Management (BVM) is making a fleet of diverse vehicles available, from rugged 4-wheel drives to practical sedans. The auction will kick off at 10:00 a.m., offering up utility trucks, SUVs, and alternative fuel options nabbed by state law enforcement among others. Complete details were released on the state's official media website.
In a move that exposes the public to a broad range of automotive brands and models, Chevy, Ford, and Toyota vehicles are just a beginning of what will be available. According to the announcement, starting on April 5th and running through the 8th, potential buyers will get a glance at the inventory during the in-person preview of the auctioned vehicles from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m daily. Among the offerings, seized by state law enforcement agencies will be vehicles that certainly have stories to tell.
But before anyone can throw their hat in the ring on auction day, the Department insists on pre-registration. It's a no-go at the gate if you're not on the list, as they've made it clear there will be no registration come auction day. So, if you're aiming to snag a set of wheels, make sure you're signed up and good to go before the deadline on April 8th at 4:00 p.m.
You’re going to need more than just spare change to take part in this auction. The Department is all about certified funds - think money orders, cashier's checks, or a certified check in the name of “Manheim Keystone PA.” Holding the cash, buyers must pony up with these specified forms of payment. So, head to your bank and come prepared, because if it's cash you’re clutching, you'll be watching from the sidelines.
