
A fatal incident occurred early Friday morning on East Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas, where an individual succumbed to injuries after being struck by a vehicle. KXAN reports that Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the distressing scene near the intersection of Riverside and South Lakeshore Boulevard at approximately 2:30 a.m., where they attempted life-saving measures.

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was ultimately declared dead at the scene. Officials with the Austin Police Department indicated that the suspect vehicle was located in proximity to the scene of the accident. The driver, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was apprehended and is currently in custody.
