The Philadelphia Police Department has released footage of a man believed to be responsible for a brutal homicide on S. Front Street and is appealing for the public’s help to identify him. According to their official release, the grim sequence played out on April 8 when two men clashed in a parking lot, resulting in one man being stabbed in the throat and then hit by a car, the fatal encounter happening at about 7:30 pm.
The suspect, who is still at large, was seen fleeing the scene in another vehicle after apparently commandeering the victim's car to use as a weapon. In an attempt to apprehend the assailant, the City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, and conviction of those involved in any homicide case.
A brief video clip shared by Philadelphia police shows the suspect, described as an Asian male in his early-to-mid 20’s with a light mustache and medium build, garbed in a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black and white New Balance sneakers. The footage, obtained from nearby surveillance cameras, offers a glimpse of the individual right before he fled the crime scene.
The Philadelphia Police Department urges anyone with information to step forward. Full details and the suspect's image are available on their official blotter.
