Scouts in Whitman now have one more skill up their sleeves thanks to Deputy Weston Fazzino of the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department. Fazzino, who serves in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, recently took on the role of educator by leading a Fingerprinting Merit Badge Training session for the young members of Scout Troop #22.
The law enforcement officer shared his expertise in the science of fingerprints with the eager scouts, an essential skill in the world of crime-solving, according to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department.
The collaboration between the Whitman Police Department and the local troop was hailed as a success; wherein the scouts wrapped up the day with new knowledge and merit badges to show for it.
The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department expresses their pride, stating, "Thank you BCI Officer Fazzino for your presentation, and congratulations to Scout Troop #22 for earning your Merit Badges!" Despite the complexity of the subject, Fazzino's presentation was designed to engage the scouts at a level they could understand and appreciate.
