Plymouth is calling all brave souls to join the ranks of its Fire Department, as part-time/on-call firefighter positions become available. According to Mayor Jeff Wosje, those from all walks of life including teachers, mechanics, and financial advisors are welcome to apply for these community-critical roles. Applications will be accepted starting May 13, as reported by the City of Plymouth, Minnesota.

In addition to the recruitment news, city residents are gearing up for the grand opening of Fire Station 2. A hose decoupling ceremony, which is sure to bring out the town’s camaraderie, is scheduled for June 1. The festivities will take place from 9-11 a.m. at 12000 Old Rockford Road, Mayor Wosje announced, that no RSVP is necessary, just show up if you want to witness the festivities first-hand, as per the City of Plymouth, Minnesota.

On the community engagement front, the mayor is getting ready to get his steps in and invites constituents to hit the pavement with him. The "Walk with the Mayor" event aligns with the Step to It Challenge, luring residents to enjoy the great outdoors while bonding over a trail walk. Free snacks and hydration are on the house, May 1 at the Plymouth Community Center, Wosje stated, emphasizing the importance of health and community spirit in one fell swoop.

Not forgetting Plymouth's dog lovers, the annual Bark in the Park event returns May 18. This pooch paradise at the Hilde Performance Center will feature dog-centric vendors, rescue groups, and plenty of tail-wagging entertainment, plus, pup pools for cooling canine dips.
