Chaos erupted in Long Beach after a violent stabbing incident in the early hours of Thursday. According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), officers rushed to the 2200 block of Lakewood Boulevard around 1:39 a.m. following reports of a stabbing. They discovered a crime scene, and shortly after, they were alerted that the female victim had been whisked away to a local hospital suffering from her injuries, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.
The confrontation began when a woman driving with another female, whom she reportedly knew, got into a heated argument. The verbal sparring rapidly spiraled out of control when the passenger began stabbing the driver. After the assault, the suspect fled on foot, evading immediate capture, while the injured woman managed a desperate escape to the 3700 block of Lewis Avenue, as per the Long Beach Police Department. From there, she contacted authorities. No suspect information has been released, as detectives scour the city for leads.
The LBPD's account of the violent ordeal suggests that the attack was not random, but the motive behind this brutal act remains a mystery. The victim, whose name has yet to be disclosed, is coping with her injuries in the hospital.
