
A Riverside woman was slapped with charges after she allegedly strong-armed a local Dollar General and tussled with deputies, officials said. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Zaria West, reportedly went on a stealing spree at approximately 12:14 p.m. on Tuesday at the 1500 Hospitality Lane location in Needles, according to the SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department.
Deputies responded to a robbery call at the dollar store and learned upon arrival that West had assaulted the clerk before making off with several items. Near the scene of the crime, West didn’t go quietly, engaging in a physical altercation with deputies endeavoring to arrest her. Despite the scuffle, she was detained and is now facing charges including strong-arm robbery, resisting an officer with force, and failing to provide her name to a public officer, with her bail set at $50,000.00. as per the BSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department.
