San Antonians gearing up for the annual Fiesta celebration may need to adjust their plans as weather forecasts predict a mix of high temperatures and potential rain this week, possibly impacting various events. According to reports from KENS 5, Wednesday is expected to see a high of 89 degrees with chances of light rain during the morning. Even as temperatures soar, clouds loom, and Thursday could bring slight chances of rain towards the evening.

Adding to the unpredictability, "One weather model is generating thunderstorms to counties west of Bexar County around 7:30 p.m. These storms if decide to develop should stay west of San Antonio," reported KENS 5. Although these are expected to remain west of San Antonio, Fiesta-goers should stay vigilant.

The renowned Oyster Bake and other beloved Fiesta events such as Fiesta de los Reyes and Taste of New Orleans, set for Friday, might also face rain interruptions. "Rain chances start to kick up this day as the cold front will move closer kicking up rain chances during the evening. Saturday we can expect rain with more measurable amounts around 9 p.m. This is when the cold front should arrive and some heavier pockets of showers possible. A lot of Fiesta events will still be taking place so you'll want to take an umbrella if you plan to be out late,” KENS 5 forecasts indicate, urging those with plans to attend these events to keep a close eye on the weather.

Over the weekend, a cold front threatens to dampen spirits, as it brings higher probabilities of rain. There's a count of events on Saturday that could be drenched by more significant showers expected to hit around 9 p.m. The San Antonio Express-News suggests that cold font is expected to move through the region, intensifying the wet weekend forecast.

The forecast is not all-day gloom, and many Fiesta events may have dry spells in between. As the opening party, Fiesta Fiesta kicks off Thursday, it also marks the commencement of the 11-day festival that San Antonio holds dear — come rain or shine.
