Deputies from the Santa Clarita Station's Special Assignment Team (S.A.T) were out in Newhall on a mission to curb a recent spate of crime in the area. With a rise in burglaries, vehicle thefts, and larceny, these deputies were keeping an extra vigilant eye during the night shift hours.
Their attention was quickly drawn to what one could only describe as a suspicious vehicle parked callously in front of a fire hydrant on Walnut Street. The driver ensconced within what appeared to be the throes of criminal endeavor, was soon to find himself in the clutches of the law. In a post shared on their Facebook page, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station reported that upon detainment, it was revealed the suspect was allegedly engaged in a narcotics deal, an act further compounded by his probation status due to previous drug sales charges.
The ensuing probation check and investigation led to the unearthing of a trove of contraband. Deputies uncovered a stash consisting of hundreds of illegal narcotics, including both edibles and cannabis products, alongside drug packaging, manufacturing supplies, and ammunition. It was a find that underscored the hidden visage of the suburban exterior.
The situation culminated with the suspect, an adult male, being taken into custody on charges of possessing illegal drugs and facilitating their sales. With the community's safety at the forefront, the Santa Clarita Station's S.A.T. team has vowed to persistently conduct patrols to ferret out and apprehend those who dare to blatantly disregard the law.
