Yesterday, a Seattle cannabis shop became the latest target in a series of high-stakes burglaries, leaving the business with substantial losses. Forbidden Cannabis in Seattle's Central District was hit by at least 11 individuals who executed a smash-and-grab heist, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages and stolen goods, the store's manager reported.
According to surveillance footage shared with KOMO News, the thieves used a vehicle to barrel through the storefront at approximately 3:20 a.m., creating a breach through which they entered to pilfer products. The group clad in dark attire, were captured on video as they raided the shop at 2413 East Union Street, swiftly grabbing merchandise before fleeing the scene.
The manager of the dispensary spoke to the loss of revenue and the property damage inflicted by the culprits. "The business lost tens of thousands of dollars between the stolen product and the property damage," said the manager, as detailed in a KATU report. The scale of the theft reflects a concerning trend in retail burglaries that involve significant financial impact on the affected businesses.
