The Texas Business Hall of Fame is adding some new faces to its prestigious ranks, with basketball legend and philanthropist David Robinson cutting. According to the San Antonio Report, Robinson, who is affectionately known as "The Admiral", is not just being recognized for his business savvy but also for the significant social impact he's made in the Lone Star State.

Joining Robinson in the class of 2024 are five other stalwarts of Texas business and philanthropy and the ceremony to honor their induction is set to take place on November 13, Michael M. Boone, co-founder of Haynes and Boone, Airbnb's Joe Gebbia, Kathleen S. Hildreth of M1 Support Services, and energy investor David B. Miller will be inducted along with Taylor Sheridan, the force behind entertainment hits like Yellowstone and the owner of Bosque Ranch Productions as mentioned in an EIN News report.

Robinson shot to fame with the San Antonio Spurs and won two NBA championships alongside Olympic gold, but after retiring in 2003, he's been active off the court as a venture capitalist and philanthropist. His business endeavors include founding the Admiral Capital Group to support charitable causes and investing in the San Antonio community through the David Robinson Foundation which has raised almost $40 million for education initiatives like the George W. Carver Academy, now part of IDEA Public Schools.

The Texas Business Hall of Fame not only puts a spotlight on successful business figures but also those who leverage their success to make a broader societal impact, "servant leadership," in addition to their success in business, is "what makes the honor so special — the combination of transformational economic impact and the wanting to use that impact to make the world better," David Huntley, Chairman of the TBHF Board, told EIN News.

Over four decades, the Texas Business Hall of Fame has been committed to honoring business leaders who exhibit enterprise and community service, alongside providing substantial grants to aspiring entrepreneurs and veterans. The legacy of these business leaders continues to inspire fresh generations to blend prosperity with philanthropy, and Robinson's inclusion this year serves as a sterling example of that ethos.
