It was the evening of April 3 when First District police responded to what sounded like gunshots blasting through the 1500 block at around 8:45 p.m. Detectives later determined that a handgun was discharged by an assailant aiming at victims who were fortunate enough to escape harm, the vehicle they were in wasn't so lucky. The bullets left behind a clear message in shattered glass and dented metal.
According to the official police report, post the incident, the shooter fled, leaving police to piece together the scarce clues in hopes of identifying the individual responsible for this reckless endangerment.
