There was mayhem on the roads last week, when a suspected drunk driver caused a major crash and then attempted to flee the scene. Constable deputies from Mark Herman's office responded with haste to the 5200 block of FM 2920 Road, following reports of the incident on April 11, 2024.
Deputies managed to apprehend the fleeing suspect shortly after the crash occurred, identifying him as David Guerrero. According to the Constable's Office's Facebook post, Guerrero displayed multiple signs of intoxication at the time of his capture. In the heat of the moment, chaos ruled as concerned bystanders and victims sought to understand the extent of the damage caused, while law enforcement moved swiftly to contain the situation.
In the wake of the crash, authorities secured a search warrant and executed it to obtain a specimen of Guerrero’s blood for testing. The details surrounding the accident and the suspect's behavior underscore the ever-present danger reckless individuals pose to the innocent travelers sharing the road with them.
Announced by Constable Mark Herman, "David Guerrero was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fail to Stop and Render Aid and Driving While Intoxicated." His bond and court information had not been determined at the time of his booking.
