The Mankato Department of Public Safety (DPS) disclosed to the public that upwards of 45 young trees, assets of city beautification efforts, faced the brunt of the suspect's unwarranted fury. The yet unidentified culprit tore through the community's greenery before turning their antics on Fire Station #3, damaging signage and launching a pole at the station's front door.
Surveillance footage captured the lone figure committing the eco-centric crime spree just before the sunrise. The financial toll is steep; city officials estimate the cost of replacing the damaged trees to be no less than $16,000. DPS is piecing together the leaves of evidence, urging community vigilance and collaboration.
