Early Saturday morning brought a grim find to the community of Gilbert, Arizona, as a man's body was discovered floating in a canal. The lifeless form was spotted near Lindsay and Baseline roads a bit after 6:30 a.m., prompting a call to local police. The investigation, initially under the jurisdiction of Gilbert police, is now being spearheaded by the Mesa Police Department, according to 12 News.

The responders recovered the unidentified man's body from the canal's waters, concluding that his demise was not natural but rather suspicious, a detail confirmed by findings of his clothes and bike near the scene. Mesa police, persisting in their probing, stated the case to be an isolated incident, claiming there to be "no threat to the public," as per AZ Family.
