A teenage boy's life was tragically cut short when he was gunned down at a DC Metro station on Thursday afternoon, police confirm. The victim, identified as 14-year-old Avion Evans of Northeast, DC, was discovered at the Brookland-Catholic University Metro Station following reports of gunfire in the area.
According to the Metro Police Department, the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. in the 800 block of Monroe Street, Northeast, prompting officers to rush to the scene where they found the teenager with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite the swift arrival of DC Fire and EMS and their life-saving attempts, unfortunately, the young Evans was pronounced dead.
The Brookland community has been shaken by the gun violence that robbed a young life, and authorities are actively investigating the motive behind the shooting, while no arrests have been made yet. The Metro Transit Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
