
A tragic shooting in Cedar Park, Texas, has left two people dead in what authorities are currently investigating as a possible murder-suicide. Late Saturday night, a woman was found shot to death in a car outside a home on Fawnfield Drive, according to Cedar Park police. KXAN reported that officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about shots fired at roughly 10:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased woman with multiple gunshot wounds, as was detailed in a Cedar Park Police Department statement. The subsequent police action prompted a shelter-in-place alert sent to the neighborhood, with law enforcement to believe the suspect might still be holed up inside the home. The Central Texas Regional SWAT Team was called in to assist with the tense standoff.
The standoff continued into the early hours of the morning, with SWAT finally making entry into the house around 1:45 a.m., where they found a man dead. CBS Austin additionally shared that the Cedar Park Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation into the events that culminated in the two deaths.
