Chino Hills has become the latest canvas for young vandals, with two suspects nabbing cuffs for their role in a hefty graffiti spree. Deputies didn't take kindly to the spray-painted mess discovered on April 5 at an apartment complex on Pomona Rincon Road. The culprits, one 18-year-old Matthew Puerto of Ontario and a 16-year-old accomplice, have both been caught and are facing felony vandalism charges, as reported by the SBSD - Chino Hills Police Department.
Authorities swung into action early Monday morning, with the Chino Hills Multi-Enforcement Team (M.E.T.) zeroing in on Puerto. He was nabbed in Ontario and now cools his heels at the West Valley Detention Center. His younger partner in crime was reeled in the following day. Although apprehended, the teen was released back to a presumably less-than-thrilled parental unit. The law is keeping a tight lid on the victims for now, their identities wrapped up in confidentiality.
These tags aren't winning any street cred, especially not with the Chino Hills Police Department, who are doggedly pursuing any leads. They've thrown open the lines for tips and are offering anonymity through the We-Tip Hotline for those who'd rather not go on record.
