A weekend in Milpitas was underscored by a flurry of police activity, from burglary arrests to a DUI apprehension, as detailed in a recent rundown shared by the Milpitas Police Department.
Early Friday morning, two Milpitas officers caught a 25-year-old from San Jose in the act of breaking a car window at an apartment complex on S. Main St., according to authorities. Despite the suspect's attempt to flee, the officers swiftly apprehended him, and he was charged with auto burglary and resisting arrest. Later in the afternoon, a disturbance and public indecency incident involving a 52-year-old unhoused person from Oakland turned assaultive when the individual reportedly spat on and slapped an officer. The suspect was slapped with charges including felony assault on a police officer, criminal threats, and trespassing.
Milpitas Police Department also responded to a call on Friday about a 29-year-old from San Jose allegedly stealing from a store at the Great Mall. Arrested for theft and giving a false ID to the police, the suspect was taken to jail. The busy day continued well into the evening.

The weekend's incidents rolled into Saturday, with Milpitas law enforcement handling a DUI case. The driver, causing a traffic collision near Dixon Rd/N. Milpitas Bl., was identified as a 30-year-old Richmond man under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently booked for DUI. Concluding the weekend's log, on Sunday, MPD confronted a situation at a hotel on Barber Ln. where a 42-year-old man from San Jose overstayed in an unpaid room, accompanied by an airsoft pistol, ammunition and narcotics. His refusal to cooperate with the officers landed him additional charges, including possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, along with narcotics violations, resisting arrest, and trespassing.
