Whataburger has yet again spiced up its menu with limited-time offerings that are sure to tantalize the tastebuds of its ardent fan base. The Texas-based fast-food giant has introduced the "Bacon Steakhouse Double," a burger designed to deliver an upscale steakhouse experience in a more handheld form. Available from April 2 to June 30, customers can now sink their teeth into this new concoction featuring two beef patties, aged cheddar, smoky bacon, crispy fried onions, and a tangy steak sauce, all crowned with a toasted bun, according to a KENS 5 report.
The chain also announced the return of another crowd-pleaser, their Dr. Pepper Shake, paired with the debut of WhataWings, a new addition that initially dropped in January. The wings are up for grabs in four different flavors, including buffalo, sweet & spicy, honey barbecue, and honey butter. Whataburger's executive chef, James Sanchez, originally intended to serve up only two varieties, but positive test feedback led to the full flavorful quartet's release. This information comes straight from an interview with My San Antonio.
“The Bacon Steakhouse Double is more than a new menu item. It’s an experience,” Whataburger's Chief Marketing Officer Scott Hudler said in a statement featured on KENS 5. For those craving a smaller indulgence, there's also the "Bacon Steakhouse Double Jr." option.
Due to unexpected demand, the chain has also extended the availability of WhataWings throughout the remainder of 2024, ensuring fans can get their wing fixes all year round. The gutsy burger and saucy wings are up for grabs in-store, at the drive-thru, or via the Whataburger App for delivery or curbside pickup, as per the company announcement.
