Yucaipa's quiet streets were rattled by a narcotics investigation which culminated in four arrests, authorities reported. Meredith Jefferies, 48, Brett Jefferies, 65, Steven Laursen, 59, and John Paden, 53, all residents of Yucaipa, find themselves behind bars, facing charges related to maintaining a drug den and possession of a firearm by a felon or narcotics addict, among other violations, as reported by the SBSD - Yucaipa Police Department.
The investigation, led by deputies at the Yucaipa Station, spanned several weeks. It zeroed in on illegal narcotic sales allegedly run out of two houses on the 13600 block of Calimesa Boulevard, according to the SBSD - Yucaipa Police Department. Deputies used a search warrant early Tuesday morning to raid the homes, where they discovered illegal drugs, paraphernalia, and a handgun.
In a statement posted on the department's website, Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus detailed the arrests and encouraged anyone with additional information to step forward. A call to action was shared, directing potential informants to Deputy Arden of the Yucaipa Station, the We-Tip Hotline, or the organization's website for anonymous tips.
