Taxpayers in Cobb County, brace yourselves for a crash course in property assessments. The Tax Assessors office has dropped the news about their upcoming tour of information sessions at local libraries. These meet-ups are an attempt to help citizens figure out the latest assessment notices that hit mailboxes not too long ago. If you've got questions or need to challenge your bill, these sessions are your go-to.
They've got the lineup set, spreading out across four libraries, with Kemp Memorial Library kicking things off on June 4. These sessions are lined up to run twice per library, from 6 PM to 8 PM, which means you won't have to miss your dinner to get some clarity. What’s unique about these events is, they’re giving residents the chance to not only ask those burning questions but also to file an appeal on the spot, if they feel the need to.
According to Cobb County's announcement, the sessions are scheduled as followed: Kemp Memorial Library on June 4 and 11, East Cobb Library on May 14 and June 4, Mountain View Regional Library on June 3 and 10, and South Cobb Regional Library on May 15 and 12. Mark your calendars, folks—this is your shot to speak directly with the assessors.
