Glendale's finest have cracked a case wide open, snagging a suspect they say is behind a rash of business break-ins. The Glendale Police Department's suited-up detectives slapped cuffs on Charles Christopher, 24, of Compton on May 1, busting him at his pad where they bagged several hot items linked to the looted Glendale shops.
Christopher, fingered for seven heists including a five-hit spree in a single evening, now faces a laundry list of charges, with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office slapping him with six counts of felony burglary and a quartet of vandalism raps. Working off the cuff, police say there's more work to do and swear to sniff out any remaining clues.
Rolling deep with about 250 sworn officers, and close to 400 total employees, the Glendale Police Department pulls no punches when it comes to doing the job. Their crew, dating back to 1906, runs a tight ship with roles ranging from Patrol to Narcotics, and even a School Resource Officer for good measure. They're the lifeline when you're dialing 9-1-1, pros at proactive policing, traffic tangles, crime-solving, and community schmoozing, including keeping their lockup shipshape.
