Fendia and Officer T. Riley, revealed that Herrera's Chrysler struck Robinson's Acura as it lawfully crossed the intersection.

The incident was marked by devastating consequences: the impact led to three passengers being ejected from the Acura, one pedestrian, Frank Johnson, 31, being struck and killed, and the Chrysler careening off the road onto a sidewalk. Both drivers and Mr. Johnson were declared dead at the scene, while two other passengers from the Acura, including the recently deceased woman, were rushed to a hospital for emergency care.

Additionally, Izuchu Oragwu, 31, Zachary McMillian, 32, and Derek Hayden, 33, all lost their lives following the collision with McMillian and Hayden dying at an area hospital after being transported from the crash site, according to Houston authorities, no passengers were discovered in Herrera's vehicle, indicating that all involved fatalities and injuries were contained within the two vehicles and the pedestrian impacted in the aftermath.

Authorities proceed with their investigation into the events that led up to the fatal crash. The latest update brings the total death toll to seven.
