According to 11Alive, the closure is part of the latest reorganization within Kroger's Atlanta Division. “We appreciate the loyalty and support of our customers and look forward to continuing to serve their needs at nearby Kroger locations,” Victor Smith, Kroger’s Atlanta Division president, conveyed in a statement. The grocery retailer has directed shoppers to additional stores in Smyrna and Marietta for their grocery needs.

All 70 employees affected by the imminent closure have been promised reassignment to other Kroger outposts. The company is in the process of scheduling meetings in the coming weeks to explore options and opportunities for these staff, ensuring a smooth transition in line with the company's collective bargaining agreement.
