Law enforcement in Solano County took a driver off the streets after a routine traffic stop turned up a loaded gun in Fairfield. According to a statement obtained by the Solano County Sheriff's Office, the driver, who was slapped with a moving violation near Chadbourne Rd. and Cordelia Rd., was found carrying a loaded firearm inside the vehicle during the search.
The individual, whose identity has not been released, was not only on active probation but also had prior felony convictions, which legally bars him from weapon possession. A patrol deputy's search of the vehicle unearthed the loaded firearm within the passenger compartment, the sheriff's office reported.
As a result of these findings, the suspect was arrested on multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm and a probation violation.
