In a dramatic culmination to a high-speed chase, five individuals were hospitalized early Thursday morning after their vehicle flipped during a pursuit by Pasadena police. The incident, which occurred around 12:45 a.m. near East Orem Drive and Telephone Road, resulted in the car landing on its roof, as confirmed by FOX 26 Houston.
The chase began shortly after Pasadena officers attempted to pull over a car reported as stolen near Spencer Highway, only for the driver to flee and eventually lose control. All five passengers were transported to a hospital, though the severity of their condition remains unknown. According to police statements, no officers were hurt and no other cars were involved in the wreck.
ABC13 Houston obtained footage from the scene, which reveals a Hyundai turned turtle along Telephone Road near Almeda Genoa Road, its deployed airbags stained with what appears to be blood. Further details from surveillance video at a nearby Auto Finance Center captured the erratic flight of the Hyundai before it overturned and smoked after crashing into a gate.
In a display of quick response, a Pasadena police officer administered CPR to an injured passenger following the crash. Particulars regarding charges have not been disclosed, as the investigation into the incident is ongoing. This police emergency draws attention to the perilous outcomes that can arise from attempts to evade law enforcement.
