A horror show unfolded in Garden Grove when a 40-year-old woman was killed after a 2019 Toyota Camry plowed into her home in the dark early hours of Sunday. The fatality occurred just before 2 a.m. on Magnolia Street.
The driver, a Riverside man aged 35, allegedly tried to escape the scene on foot but was apprehended in a neighboring area. The Garden Grove Police pinpointed alcohol and/or drugs as potential contributing factors in this disastrous incident, with test results from the Orange County Crime Lab still pending, according to KTLA.
Eyewitness accounts led the police to the suspect, who had abandoned his wrecked vehicle and fled. Inside the demolished residence, the victim was discovered trapped under the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect's identity remains under wraps as the investigation continues, with an authorities' bid for information from the public. A call to action has been issued by the Garden Grove Police Department, urging those who might know more to reach out to Investigator Yergler directly, as detailed by FOX LA's coverage of the tragedy.
