A high school student was arrested after a stabbing incident at Christopher High School in Gilroy, the local authority reported. During a locker room fight on May 22 at around midday, chaos broke out when one of the students involved pulled a knife, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

Stabbed during the altercation, staff and the School Resource Officer quickly responded to contain the situation. The juvenile suspect was apprehended on the scene. At the same time, the wounded student was treated shortly after by the Gilroy Fire Department before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care, as confirmed by police officials.

Following the violence, the school implemented a “Code-Blue” lockdown, immediately putting the school in a state of heightened security. This lockdown ensured the safety of the remaining students and staff until officers lifted it roughly 60 minutes later. Police have assured that the high school no longer faces immediate threats post-incident.

The Gilroy Police, stressing there's no danger to students or staff, have taken the suspect into custody and transported them to Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, facing charges connected to the stabbing. The incident remains under investigation, with authorities urging anyone possessing information or video evidence to reach out to Detective Sergeant Kenneth Ellsworth through the provided contacts or to leave an anonymous tip at the designated hotline.
