A man suspected of shoplifting led deputies on a foot chase before his arrest. The incident occurred on Kuykendahl Road last Thursday when deputies responded to a call about an alleged shoplifter in action, according to Harris County Constable's Office.
Upon their arrival, the suspect, later identified as Chase Richardson, decided to hightail it, igniting a brief but spirited pursuit. Richardson's dash for freedom was cut short as deputies quickly caught up to him. It turned out that Richardson had more than just the immediate theft to worry about; a deeper dig into his record by law enforcement revealed that the man was already wanted on a separate warrant, also for theft, as detailed on the Constable's Office Facebook page.
"Chase Richardson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Theft and Evading Arrest," Constable Mark Herman announced in a statement. At the time of reporting, the courts had not yet decided on a bond for the alleged thief, and he remains confined pending further proceedings in Harris County Court 5.
