
Sergeant Lindley of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office saved a great egret from a man-made hazard. The officer discovered the bird ensnared in a tangle of fishing line at Cypress Creek Park, located in the 1900 block of Naples Chase Crest.
Lindley's intervention meant the difference between life and death for the great egret, a bird revered for its statuesque form and grace. The deputy constable carefully unraveled the creature from its binds, ultimately releasing it back into the wild. According to a KHOU, the constable’s office later celebrated the rescue on social media, where community members heaped praises upon Sgt. Lindley.
One commenter expressed gratitude online saying, "Thank you for helping this baby. So beautiful." Another hailed the efforts of the constable’s office, remarking, "Serving and protecting all who live here!!", as reported by KHOU.
