A man led police on a wild ride through the 1000 block of the N Sam Houston Pkwy W, that ended with his arrest on May 13. The mayhem began when a Corporal from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop. The driver, however, had other plans and instead floored it, sparking a chase that would soon draw the attention of multiple law enforcement units.
Refusing to comply, the driver, identified as Brandon Beeks, pushed his pedal to the metal and tried to give cops the slip, leading to a brief but feverish pursuit. The vehicle was cornered. Following the commotion, the suspect was swiftly apprehended.
"Brandon Beeks was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 338th District Court.", according to a statement on Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page.
Details surrounding the reason for the initial traffic stop have not been disclosed.
