In a tragic turn of events at a Holland, Michigan Wendy's, Vinnice Daianie Leon has been charged after her husband was fatally injured following a dispute that took place on March 25. As reported by WZZM13, the argument between the couple escalated when 45-year-old Robert Baltazar Leon was thrown from the hood of their '09 Dodge Charger and suffered a fatal head injury.
The incident began with an argument inside the vehicle parked at the 16th Street fast-food restaurant, according to News Channel 3. It is reported that after leaving the car, Robert was locked out by his wife, Vinnice, prompting him to jump onto the hood of the car as she attempted to drive away. She continued driving, and upon turning onto an adjacent private roadway, her husband was ejected and sustained the injurious blow.
Vinnice Leon is facing a single count of moving violations causing death. The charges were detailed by the Holland Department of Public Safety and confirmed by Holland Sentinel, reporting that this misdemeanor could result in up to one year in jail, a fine of as much as $2,000, or both. She was granted a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
Following the incident, Vinnice was left unharmed and claimed no intention of harming her husband. "I didn't intend to harm my husband," Vinnice said, as per FOX-17 in an April interview. She is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on May 28, as per Ottawa County District Court documents.
