In an ongoing investigation into a deadly shooting in Houston, the local police have heightened the search for a suspect with the release of surveillance footage. The Houston Police Department (HPD) hopes the video will help track down the individual responsible for the death of 22-year-old Matthew Francis. The tragic incident, which left Francis fatally wounded with multiple gunshot wounds, occurred at an apartment complex on Dunlap Street on the afternoon of February 13, 2023.

The surveillance video, linked adjacent to a news release on the City of Houston's official website, features the suspect and several persons of interest. These individuals are currently sought by the police for questioning, walking near the crime scene, and it is still unclear their relation to the crime. Found by HPD officers at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead by paramedics from the Houston Fire Department.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Detective T. Tyler are vigorously working the case, as details continue to emerge. The police department has made a public plea for assistance. "Anyone with information on the identities of the suspect and other individuals in the surveillance video, or in this case, is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS."
