Houston authorities are in the midst of an investigation following a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of two men in the Wisteria Park Drive area last Saturday afternoon. The incident, which unfolded around 4:05 p.m., left the victims, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, fatally wounded.

According to the City of Houston's news release, the situation began when Houston Police Department (HPD) officers came to swiftly answer to a person down call. At the location, they found one man unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the man dead. As officers began to swiftly piece together what happened, another call directed them to a nearby hospital where a second male victim with gunshot injuries was taken and later died as a result of his wounds.

The investigation, spearheaded by HPD Homicide Division's Sergeant C. Ponder alongside Detectives L. Patterson and M. Barton, quickly expanded as they found a vehicle with bullet holes in the 12100 block of Richmond Avenue. Interviews conducted there suggested that witnesses and the hospital rush-in victim were connected to the same violent tableau that bloodied Wisteria Park Drive.

Authorities have since released a description of a potential suspect. They are on the lookout for a black male in his early 20s, believed to be behind the wheel of a gray Dodge Charger. Officials encourage anyone with information that could lead to unravel or even shed a single beam of light on this case, to step forward. Tips can be directed to the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600, or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS for those preferring to maintain their anonymity.
