
Tragedy struck at an apartment complex on Braesvalley Drive Tuesday evening as a man, 23, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene; the Houston Police Department has now released surveillance footage of the suspect in the fatal encounter. The identity of the victim is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to a city release.
Details surrounding the incident remain scant but HPD officials stated that an argument between the armed suspect and victim escalated, leading up to the shooting which saw the suspect flee on foot after the act he was last seen wearing blue shorts and a black jacket as captured on video, with investigators urging witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect's identity to step forward. Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective S. Chettry are handling the case for HPD’s Homicide Division.
The Houston police have been canvassing the area for more information and examining the footage in hopes of making a quick arrest and are asking for the community’s assistance. Local residents expressed concern and shock over the violence that has erupted in what they describe as a tight-knit community.
