Houston authorities are currently piecing together the circumstances that led to a deadly shooting this past weekend. A 27-year-old woman was killed in broad daylight, her body discovered with multiple gunshot wounds Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m. at 8100 Calhoun Street. The victim's name has yet to be released, pending formal identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to a report by the City of Houston official news site.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective N. Henderson, upon arriving at the scene with patrol officers, found the victim lying in a street. The responding Houston Fire Department paramedics declared her dead at that site. The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was last observed with her boyfriend in her blue Honda Accord, displaying a temporary license tag 4999V48. However, as of now, authorities have not been able to locate either the boyfriend or the vehicle, the City of Houston news website detailed.

The Houston Police Department is urging the public for any information that could lead to an understanding of this tragic event. A plea is out for anyone who knows something to come forward. "Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," the department stated.
