Lake Park in Lewisville is introducing stricter regulations this weekend to ensure a more enjoyable experience for all visitors. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is stepping up enforcement of ordinances, particularly targeting the use of alcohol and glass containers. Visitors planning to bask in the sun at this lakeside retreat will need to leave these items at home, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.
In a move that might dismay party-goers, the city has invoked ordinances 10-71 and 10-72, effectively banning alcohol and glass containers within the park. The PARD has announced that cooler checks will be conducted at the entrance to prevent these prohibited items from being brought into the park. According to the enforcement notice, visitors will be given a chance to dispose of any alcohol or glass products before entering the park. Those who refuse will be denied entry.
In addition to the alcohol and glass bans, ordinance 9-5 prohibits loud or excessive noise within the park. Visitors attempting to bring in forbidden items or create disturbances will be promptly removed without a refund.
Furthermore, high lake levels have prompted the closure of all boat ramps and courtesy docks. This means no boating activities will be allowed until water levels recede. The limited parking availability due to these conditions adds another layer of inconvenience for those planning to visit.
The city emphasizes that these measures are in place to ensure safety and maintain order during the busy summer season. Visitors are encouraged to comply with the new rules to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.
