Phoenix residents awoke yesterday to the unsettling news that a man and a woman were hospitalized after a double shooting; meanwhile, the assailant continued to evade police capture. The violence erupted shortly after 2 a.m. near the intersection of 31st Avenue and Van Buren Street, as confirmed by FOX 10 Phoenix.

Authorities who arrived at the scene discovered a man with at least one gunshot wound, his injuries serious but not life-threatening, and they soon learned that a woman associated with the suspect may also have been shot and was missing momentarily it became clear that the scene extended beyond the immediate vicinity, as officers later located the vehicle in question, with the female victim inside, near 27th and Campbell avenues, she alone but also wounded, at 12News reported.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, where they are expected to recover from their injuries. The Phoenix police have yet to release descriptions of the suspect who remains at large despite establishing a perimeter in an effort to corner and apprehend the gunman on the run, this incident adding yet another layer of urgency to the community's plea for peace and safety.

In response to this ongoing threat, Phoenix police are now urging any individuals with information to come forward, leveraging Arizona's Silent Witness program, an initiative that maintains confidentiality for those who offer tips that could lead to an arrest or indictment, and could even yield a reward of up to $1,000 dollars for critical information even as the search continues.
