Police are on the hunt for a robbery suspect in Northwest D.C., officials say. The Metropolitan Police Department's Third District detectives are calling for public assistance to track down the individual responsible for a recent theft.

The incident went down on Friday, May 10, at around 4:18 p.m., on the 1400 block of Irving Street, where the suspect reportedly made a threatening gesture that suggested he was armed and subsequently made off with the victim's belongings. The victim, who has not been named, complied with the demands before the suspect escaped, as MPD reported.

Authorities have not provided a detailed description of the suspect as of now. They are scourging through available surveillance footage and are asking local residents and businesses if they have any video or information that could lead to an arrest. 

MPD is urging anyone with information about the crime, to come forward. "We are asking anyone who has knowledge of this incident to please come forward," a statement from the department noted.
