Authorities are on the hunt for two individuals linked to the shooting of a teenager in Washington D.C.'s Southeast neighborhood, an incident that is prompting a community-wide call for help. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is turning to the public for aid in tracking down the pair responsible for wounding the young victim.
On the night of May 13, just before midnight, police were summoned to the scene at the 3500 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast—this is where they discovered a 16-year-old male suffering from gunshot injuries, the urgency of flashing lights and sirens cut through the night as they rushed to respond but it was too late the deed had been done. According to official MPD statements, the teenager was swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment, where thankfully, it was determined that his injuries were not life-threatening.
While the details of the shooting remain sparse, the impact of such violence on the fabric of a neighborhood cannot be overstated. Anyone with information regarding the southeast shooting is encouraged to get in touch with the authorities.
