
The Oak Ridge Police Department is currently searching for a missing teenager, last seen on Saturday. 16-year-old Elsie Barber was reported to have left her home at approximately 10 p.m., and concerns are heightened as she is considered endangered without access to her medication. Elsie is described as standing five-feet-two-inches tall, with brown hair, brown eyes, and was wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and dark Converse shoes at the time of her disappearance.
According to the statistics shared by WATE, nearly 400 people go missing in Tennessee each year, translating to roughly five people per 100,000 residents. The Oak Ridge Police Department has made an appeal to the public to help actively to locate the missing teen, emphasizing the critical nature of the situation due to Elsie's dependency on medication. The Police Department has not yet released any further details on the potential circumstances leading up to Elsie’s disappearance.
The Oak Ridge Police Department has reiterated their call for assistance and asks for anyone with information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to come forward to potentially aid in the investigation. "Anyone with information was asked to call ORPD at 856-425-4399," urged the Police Department, as reported by WATE.
