The search is on for a man reported missing from Philadelphia's 3rd District, as local authorities ask for help from the public. Hasan Dempsey, a 45-year-old resident last seen on Wednesday morning, has seemingly vanished without a trace and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Dempsey's description, provided by the Philadelphia Police website, notes he is 5 feet tall, weighs 250 pounds, and is distinguishable by a light complexion and a bald spot on the back of his head; a man who might be easy to spot on the bustling streets of North Philadelphia where he said he was headed for a haircut, but the city is vast and the faces many, and so he remains lost among them.
Last sighted on the 1900 block of S. 6th Street at 9:00 am, the missing person was dressed in a rather casual outfit consisting of a gray t-shirt, beige pants, and white/green Nike sneakers, topped with a dark-colored baseball hat. His attire, notably mundane, perhaps blends into the hues of the cityscape, making the search all the more pressing and the public's vigilance crucial.
The Philadelphia Police have extended an earnest plea calling upon anyone within the area or beyond who might have caught a glimpse of Dempsey or can provide any semblance of a lead, to step forth; their cooperation could be the key in piecing together the whereabouts of this missing man, whose foray for a simple change in appearance might unhinge a myriad of questions of what happened to Hasan Dempsey. Community members are encouraged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department with any information that could assist in the search for Hasan Dempsey.
