
Phoenix police are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver who left one person dead early Saturday morning near Papago Amphitheater. The fatal incident occurred on McDowell Road when the pedestrian was first struck by a vehicle going westbound around 1 a.m., as FOX 10 Phoenix reported. The driver did not stop and fled the scene; later, a second vehicle also hit the pedestrian who was then lying in the road, but this driver stopped and called for help.
Following the incident, the area between Galvin Parkway and 52nd Street was shut down for the investigation and it was eventually reopened, the incident happened near 60th Street and McDowell Road according to witnesses and the police are actively asking for anyone with information or evidence to come forward, with Phoenix Police and Silent Witness reachable at 480-WITNESS, as AZFamily revealed.
Authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased as the investigation continues.
