Phoenix is bracing for a scorching week ahead with temperatures forecasted to reach into the triple-digits, offering no respite from the intense heat for residents. According to the National Weather Service, today's high is expected to hover near 95 degrees under sunny skies, with light winds shifting from west to northwest throughout the day.
The heat wave is anticipated to strengthen, with the mercury slated to climb to a boiling 98 degrees by Monday, and the pattern of clear skies and blazing sun is set to continue for the foreseeable future, providing little likelihood of cooling down overnight despite the lower nighttime temperatures around the 70s, the National Weather Service reported. Phoenix residents will feel the brunt of the swelter with a high near 98 degrees both Monday and Tuesday, followed by scorching temperatures anticipated to reach a peak of 101 degrees on Saturday.
A forecast from FOX 10 Phoenix echoes the predictions of sweltering heat, reporting immediate temperatures as of 5:17 AM MST at a balmy 69 degrees with the day's high expected to reach 97 degrees according to their weather service.
Looking ahead, the seven-day forecast suggests there will be no reprieve from the incendiary trend, with Friday's high projected at 98 degrees and the following Wednesday expected to tilt the scales at a blistering 105 degrees, inching upward throughout the week, and propelling residents toward a series of days marked by triple-digit heat that will demand precautions against potential health risks associated with such extreme temperatures, FOX 10 Phoenix reported. With the heat seemingly entrenched, locals are reminded to stay hydrated, seek shade, and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
