On the late afternoon of April 27, two individuals were involved in a startling sequence of events that started with an armed robbery in Sunol and escalated to an attempted carjacking on the 300 block of Neal St. in Pleasanton shortly after 5:25 p.m., according to a Patch news report.

The victim of the attempted carjacking recounted the harrowing ordeal, hearing two gunshots before being confronted by a male suspect demanding car keys, lifting his shirt, and a handgun in his waistband. The perpetrator fled when the victim resisted and ran into his home. Remarkably, no one was hurt despite the gunfire.
