Repeat Offenders Nabbed for Series of Vehicle Burglaries in Chino HillsSource: Facebook / Chino Hills Police Department

Caught red-handed and back behind bars, two women previously on the hook for theft found themselves cuffed again, this time for a spree of vehicle burglaries in Chino Hills. The dynamic duo of Elizabeth Ruiz, 44, of Ontario, and Annabelle Sanchez, 23, of Pomona, were apprehended in a sting thanks to eagle-eyed Chino Hills deputies, according to local authorities.

These two were supposedly under the watchful eye of San Bernardino County Probation, but it seems they were more interested in peering into cars than abiding by the law. The first burglary that set off the alarm occurred on March 10 at Chino Hills State Park, said deputies. Items were swiped from, an unsuspecting victim's vehicle, said the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department in a statement.

Digging deeper, the Chino Hills Detective Bureau connected the dots, pinning Ruiz and Sanchez to several other similar smash-and-grabs. The plot thickened when, on May 1, members of the Chino Hills Multi-Enforcement Team (M.E.T.) watched the pair park their car, shadily cover up their license plates, and sling suspicious stares at parked vehicles by the Target on Philadelphia Street.

They didn't just window shop; deputies if you will, caught Sanchez in the act of shattering a car window and helping herself to the contents inside. The swift arm of the law swooped in, discovering a trove of what's believed to be stolen goods and the tools of their illicit trade in the suspects' vehicle, according to the official department press release.

The two are now cooling their heels at West Valley Detention Center, booked on charges of vehicle burglary, conspiracy, and violating the terms of their probation. In the wake of these revelations, the Chino Hills Police Department is calling on the public for any further information related to these crimes and assures anonymity to those who wish to come forward through the We-Tip Hotline.
